Sewing Success

Lots of learning and fun was had at the sewing workshop on Saturday.  Rachael from Imagine Gnats helped teach and did some technical work as well. One of the students sewing machine was on the fritz and Rachael came to the rescue and fixed the machine.

The students made tote bags using decorative fabric swatches from Joseph William's Home.

I stopped by the furniture store last Friday to tell them I would be using the fabric swatches for the workshop. Fred was very excited and said that he can order material by the yard for anyone that is interested. They have some beautiful patterns.

Next workshop will be in January or February. I have some ideas of fun stuff to teach. Maybe knitting with plastic bags...we will see.

Holiday Madness

Time is not on my side. I feel like I can not get caught up. I spent a couple days last month out of town and since I've been back, I have been working like crazy to get ready for all the upcoming events and sewing workshop on Saturday. I love being busy, but I have some new ideas that I would like to start working on, not to mention client requests. So........if you are thinking about giving a Purdy gift, get your orders in soon. I will be taking customer orders up to December 10th.

Introducing EveryDAYprons for the Foodie Fashionista. Thanks Brian and Lea for their winning suggestions. We liked both names and wanted to incorporate them both into the name!

On Saturday, we went shopping for something to display our aprons. We found this cute body form at Hobby Lobby.

T-shirt scarves

One of my clients gave me a great tip. She said that I should take the sleeves of t-shirts and sew them together to make a scarf. So I did and I think it was a great idea. Thanks Mary Rose

I love food

I really enjoy eating food, especially yummy food that is easy to make. The problem is that I don't like to spend a lot of time cooking, mostly because I am busy and maybe a little lazy. I wish I had a personal chef to cook for me, but I don't. The other problem is that my trips to the grocery store are unplanned without a grocery lists.

A couple of weeks ago, I was searching for some easy recipes and I found the blog Broke and Healthy. The recipes are simple, but very tasty with just a handful of ingredients needed. I have made a handful of dishes from the site and have loved everyone....especially the stuffed peppers. Yum. Have fun cooking.
